Projects
For updates on my projects, visit akarlin.com. Apart from blogging, my main priorities for 2025 include:
(1) Nooceleration: I am expanding my article The Biosingularity is Near into a book. Its main thesis is that human intelligence enhancement is preferable to a dysgenics-driven Dark Age or the AI paperclips. More details, including a chapter plan, here.
(2) Sophia DAO: Opening up the human intelligence enhancement space to crypto investors and front-running Nooceleration.
(3) Frozen Embers: Sci-fi novel (trilogy) in a universe where the Katechon Hypothesis turns out to be all too true.
Ideology
Though I always shied away from labels, as of 2024 you can probably classify me as an anarcho-lib. I generally support free markets, social liberalism, Open Borders, cryptocurrencies and DeSci, and extreme bioliberalism. I am bullish on and want to accelerate biology (bio/acc), radical life extension, and human intelligence enhancement (“nooceleration”). My political utopia is to replace the world’s nation-states with network states, running on a decentralized global constitutional trust layer that offers a global UBI from taxes on transactions and safe AI compute.
RationalWiki
I also share the mainstream scientific view on intelligence and hereditarianism, and support voluntary/positive eugenics.
This commitment to good epistemics and practical transhumanism has created some minor problems for me. If you search my name on Google, one of the first results will be an unsalutary profile about me at RationalWiki. This is primarily the work of a British individual called Oliver D. Smith (ODS), who abandoned the Neo-Nazism of his youth to engaged in a persistent campaign of smears, libel, and harassment against me and other intelligence bloggers/researchers at RationalWiki. Though this website has negligible editorial standards, it is strongly privileged by Google in its search rankings.
The vast bulk of what is attributed to me at RationalWiki is maliciously misquoted, and at times simply made up. My standard response is to direct readers to my statement on ODS/RationalWiki, as well as the City Journal, Cancel Watch, and Ghost of Lomax articles about this individual.
